Thanks again for checking us out online. We hope that you’ve enjoyed your experience here so far and hopefully we can answer any questions you may have in this section, but if not please feel free to use the contact form to contact our secretary, Joy. And don’t forget you can always give us a call during normal business hours or leave a message. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Here’s the list of our most Frequently Asked Questions. We hope you find what you’re looking for!

1. What time are Sunday’s services?

On Sundays we have several opportunities for you to be involved with. First, Sunday School starts at 9:30 AM – we have classes for all ages! Immediately following Sunday School is the morning service, which starts at 10:30 AM. This is our main service for everyone to come together in worship. A typical morning service lasts around an hour where you’ll experience singing of hymns, a choir special presentation, a special musical performance each week, and a message from the pastor. After the musical portion of the service, kids are dismissed to children’s church and junior church where they’ll experience a service that is tailor made for them. If you’ve never been to Sweat Memorial, this is the service to visit and we certainly look forward to meeting you!

2. What about handicapped access?

We have several handicapped accessible entries as well as greeters that will be glad to assist you into and out of the church. We also have a limited number of wheelchairs for those who require them. If you or a loved one needs assistance getting into or out of the church please approach one of our greeters at the entrances and inform them of your needs.

3. What can I expect during a Sunday Service?

Sunday morning services typically last about an hour (10:30 – 11:30 AM). A service starts out with a “Call to Worship”, a musical performance by our choir designed to welcome everyone into the musical worship portion of the service. Following the opening performance, the audience is asked to join in worship by singing along to hymns, with accompanying music provided by a small orchestra. The choir then performs a special musical performance that is followed by a unique special musical performance by some of our musically adept members. Lastly, the pastor will deliver a relevant and engaging sermon from scripture.  We have a similar service on Sunday evenings (6:30 – 7:30 PM) where the pastor will deliver a new message for a total of two different Sunday Services each week.

4. How do I find the appropriate Sunday School class?

Check the church layout that’s provided on the Sunday School section of the Ministries drop-down list. If you still need help, approach one of the greeters at any of the main entrances to the church. They will be glad to help you find the correct meeting place!

5. Is a nursery provided?

A nursery is provided for each of the Sunday Services, during Sunday School, as well as during choir practice on Sunday evenings. The nursery is staffed by caring mothers of our church and is there for your benefit should you need to use it. It is located in the Education wing of the church – please ask a greeter if you need more information about the nursery or how to find it!

6. How can I donate to Sweat Memorial?

Please contact Joy, the church secretary for more information on how you can give to Sweat Memorial or any of the missions that we support!
