“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud; and he
shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:17
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that
ye may be healed.” James 5:16a
Sweat Memorial Baptist Church is known throughout the community as a “Praying Church.” In keeping with God’s Word to pray for one another, Sweat Memorial offers a variety of opportunities for group prayer throughout each week.
Prayer Warrior Ministry
Sweat Memorial has a very active Prayer Warrior Ministry. Dedicated Prayer Warriors are present after the morning and evening services every Sunday to pray with anyone who has a special prayer need. This is simply a time of prayer for a specific need and is not designed to be a counseling session.
The Prayer Room is located through the door at the left (organ side) of the altar and is always open to anyone who seeks a quiet place to pray.
The Prayer Warrior Ministry flows over into all areas of the church life. In addition to Prayer Warriors being available after Sunday services, Sweat Memorial has mid-week Prayer Meeting and “Knee Mail.”
Prayer Meeting is at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday. This is a time dedicated to prayer needs of our church members as well as the needs of those in our community. Prayer Meeting is held in the Choir Room and anyone who wishes to join in prayer during the mid-week service is encouraged to attend. Prayer requests as well as praise reports are heard during the Prayer Meeting time.
Sweat Memorial Baptist Church is always mindful of prayer needs and offers “Knee Mail” messages from church members to request prayer for loved ones in their time of need and to keep our members aware of situations with our church family. Please contact the church secretary either by phone or e-mail to have her send out a “Knee Mail.”
If you are not already receiving “Knee Mail” messages, please contact the church office and ask that your e-mail address be added to the list of those receiving the messages.
